The wonders of modern technology, Invisalign in Newcastle
Sometimes the technological equipment that is developed can give us the impression that we are living in a world of magic. Clear Braces Direct knows that this world is real and that we can produce practical results to put a magical smile on your face. We have replaced frowns with broad, confident smiles on almost 7,000 faces using Invisalign in Newcastle. Correcting your misaligned teeth benefits you not just cosmetically but also practically since your teeth will perform their function of chewing food properly.
Quicker and more efficient
For decades the process of correcting misaligned teeth from start to finish was a series of dental appointments which took quite a long time. Traditional x-rays have now been replaced with digital x-ray machines and 3D scanners producing over 6,000 images per second. We are now able to create a complete view of your oral cavity, allowing us to assess your condition with increased accuracy and improved data. Invisalign in Newcastle uses the software and hardware developed alongside it to digitally send your information to the laboratory. Where before it was necessary to use dental putty to create a mould and then send your information by courier or post, digital communication with the laboratory is far quicker.
View beforehand
All of this amazing technology allows Invisalign in Newcastle to produce a virtual prediction of what your smile will look like once you have completed the treatment. You don’t have to try and imagine what you will look like when you smile.
Invisalign works differently from traditional braces
Dental braces have undergone major changes, and they are now more comfortable and efficient than before; many still use blocks, wires and braces to slowly move teeth. Invisalign uses a different concept and even looks dramatically different. Firstly, Invisalign is made from a clear dental thermoplastic material called SmartTrack. Because it’s clear, it’s far less conspicuous than traditional braces. Invisalign does not need to be attached to the front of your teeth; instead, the aligners resemble gum shields and can fit over your teeth. These gum shields are referred to as trays, and the number you need depends on the condition being treated.
Removable trays
A series of these trays is produced, each one is slightly different and digitally designed to gradually move your teeth until they are repositioned to give you beautifully aligned teeth. The trays must be worn for at least 22 hours a day but can be removed to allow for eating, brushing and flossing. Each tray will need to be worn for between three and four weeks before the next one in the series is worn. The total duration of the treatment will be determined at the beginning and will be based on the condition being treated.
Finally
At the end of your treatment, you will need to wear a retainer for some time to allow your teeth to settle in their new positions. After that, you will have the satisfaction of being able to produce a broad, happy and confident smile to share with friends and family all around the world.
