Invisible ingenuity

The process of achieving this goal consists of a custom made mould of a patient’s teeth being constructed from patented SmartTrack® plastic, which is both malleable and firm. Once the mould is made, the patient wears the retainer for the duration of treatment – which typically lasts up to twelve months – and during which time the retainer gradually aligns the patient’s teeth to the specifications set out with their dental practitioner or a site such as Clear Braces Direct, before beginning treatment. When worn, the retainer is virtually undetectable to the naked eye, and as such Invisalign has become the treatment of choice for teenagers and young adults as it allows them to undergo essential dental alignment, without attracting any unwanted attention from peers or colleagues. Another reason why Invisalign is favoured over conventional fused ‘train-track’ braces is that the retainer is removable, and as such can be worn at the patient’s leisure at a time convenient to them – such as when at home, or asleep.
